Integrins are heterodimeric transmembrane receptors that mediate cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion. The β6 Integrin β6 associates exclusively with the αV subunit, and the αVβ6 complex is expressed specifically on epithelial cells. It is a receptor for extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, fibronectin, vitronectin, tenascin, and the latency associated peptide (LAP) of TGF-β. αVβ6 integrin is involved in TGF-β activation. Its expression is upregulated during wound healing and in some cancers.

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µL volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Clone S20012B does not react with mouse integrin αVβ8.
