Western blot of purified anti-Doc2b antibody (clone N150/21). Lane 1, 5: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2, 6: 50 µg of human brain lysate; Lane 3, 7: 50 µg of rat brain lysate; Lane 4, 8: 50 µg of mouse brain lysate. The blots were incubated with 1 µg/mL of clone N150/21 (left) or mouse IgG1 isotype control (right) overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system. The additional bands observed in mouse brain lysates correspond to non-specific bands.

Double C2-like domain-containing protein beta (DOC2b) is a SNARE-related protein that binds to syntaxin-4 in a calcium-dependent manner to regulate exocytosis. DOC2b is stimulated by insulin to mediate glucose intake in the pancreas and can modulate release of neurotransmitters in the CNS.
