Description

CD8b antigen is also known as T8, Lyt2, Ly-2, and CD8β. It is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most thymocytes, some mature T cell subsets, and macrophages. CD8b forms heterodimers with the CD8α chain (CD8a). CD8 is an antigen co-receptor on T cells that interacts with MHC class I on antigen-presenting cells or epithelial cells. CD8 participates in T cell activation through its association with the T cell receptor complex and protein tyrosine kinase lck (p56lck).

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤1.0 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Application Notes

Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunoprecipitation1, Western blotting1, immunohistochemical staining1,2 of acetone-fixed frozen sections and Zinc-fixed paraffin-embeded sections, in vitro blocking of allogeneic responses1, Macrophage stimulation3,4 and in vivo depletion.
