BL28543_Pure_GGT1_Antibody_1_111218
Western blot of purified anti-GGT1 antibody (clone BL28543). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 20 µg of HepG2 Cell lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of human liver lysate. The blot was incubated with 0.5 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

IHC staining of purified anti-GGT1 antibody (clone BL28543) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human kidney tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R, the tissue was incubated with 1 µg/ml of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. BioLegend’s Ultra Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929901) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale Bar: 50 µm

Description

GGT1 is a transferase that plays a key role in the gamma-glutamyl cycle. GGT1 is abundantly expressed in liver and kidney. Its involvement in glutathione metabolism makes it an important regulator of the oxidative stress in the central nervous system, as well as in other tissues. GGT1 is also a known marker for apoptosis. Importantly, elevated levels of GGT1 correlates with breast cancer tumor progression and resistance to chemotherapy, suggesting GGT1 as a candidate for cancer prognosis marker.

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. For Western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 0.5 - 5.0 µg per ml. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, a concentration range of 1.0 - 5.0 µg/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
