IHC staining of anti-CD66e antibody (clone BSB-13) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human colon tissue. Following antigen retrieval using sodium citrate, the tissue was incubated with the primary antibody for 60 minutes at room temperature at 1 µg/mL. BioLegend's Ultra Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit was used for detection, followed by counterstaining with hematoxylin.

Description

Carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), also known as CD66e, is a glycoprotein involved in cell adhesion and intracellular signaling. It is normally produced during fetal development in the gut, and its production stops before birth. CEA is re-expressed in increased amounts in Intestinal Carcinomas and several other tumors.
