Transcription termination factor-1 (TTF-1) plays a critical role in ribosomal gene transcription. This transcription factor mediates the termination of RNA polymerase I transcription by binding to Sal box terminator elements downstream of pre-rRNA coding regions. It binds to and activates the promoter of thyroid specific genes such as thyroglobulin, thyrotropin receptor, and thyroperoxidase. TTF-1 is important in the maintenance of the thyroid differentiation phenotype.Product Details
