At each and every step of your workflow, we want to be able to disrupt and dismantle the SARS-CoV-2 virus. This means understanding the functions of the proteins encoded by the virus genome, and the host entry points and pathways it utilizes. It means discerning effective immune responses in COVID-19 patients and disease models. And it means discovering new biomarkers and pathways for therapeutic treatments, vaccine candidates, and viral detection kits. We've organized our diverse products (antibodies, recombinant proteins, cytokine detection kits, and proteogenomics profiling options) by workflow stages, making it easier to pick your reagents and start your experiments. Browse our informative videos on COVID-19. Read our blog on the importance of highly sensitive and quantitative ELISAs to measure antibodies raised against SARS-CoV-2 so that we better understand the status of protective immunity in our population.

If you are working with whole blood from samples vaccinated against COVID-19, please read through our FAQ in the General Flow Cytometry section to learn how this could affect staining.

Viral Recognition and Inflammation

Viral entry and the resulting inflammation are key mechanisms under investigation by SARS-CoV-2 researchers. We provide SARS-CoV-2 recombinant proteins and antibodies to investigate the interactions between S1 spike protein and human ACE2 for viral entry. Our ELISA kits and LEGENDplex™ assays can further characterize early inflammation and the efficacy of interventions by tracking the cytokine response. By fully understanding the virus’ starting point and its subsequent effects on the body, we can dismantle SARS-CoV-2 before it has a chance to even start.

Cellular Responses and Anti-Viral Pathways

Monitor Cellular ResponseOnce you’ve studied the entry points and how SARS-CoV-2 attacks cells, you’re ready to shift your focus onto the immune cell response. In order to gauge an effective immune response, it is critical to characterize the cellular immune response, particularly T cells. We have developed unique tools: MojoSort™ kits for the isolation of desired populations; MHC monomers pre-loaded with SARS-CoV-2 peptides for antigen-specific T cell studies; and antibodies to detect key components of anti-viral pathways. BioLegend provides key tools for discovering how cells work together to dismantle
SARS-CoV-2.

Our SARS-CoV-2 Reactive T cell Kit offers a flow-based solution for detecting T cells activated in response to SARS-CoV-2 peptide stimulation through detection of activated LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) on the cell surface.

This comprehensive kit comes with lyophilized antibodies, positive controls (including a SARS-CoV-2 peptide pool), and critical buffers needed to complete the experiment. Each test is conveniently packaged in a single pouch, facilitating a simplified workflow. It also provides a backbone of a multicolor antibody cocktail for gating CD4+, CD8+ T cells. All of the analyzed markers are on the cell surface, so cell fixation/permeabilization procedures that can lead to significant cell loss and increased assay time are not required.

Our new SARS-CoV-2-specific Flex-T™ MHC reagents simplify your protocol and save time. Each HLA monomer comes ready-to-use with fixed relevant SARS-CoV-2 peptides, removing the need for a peptide exchange step and allowing you to track T cells for potential vaccine candidates. MojoSort™ Kits allow you to use magnetic nanoparticles to quickly isolate cells of interest with high purity and yield. Based on our testing, cells isolated with MojoSort™ reagents retain functionality for downstream applications. Find kits for T cells, B cells, NK cells, and Monocytes

Recombinant Cytokines and Growth Factors are critical for eliciting cellular responses, including proliferation, differentiation, and cytokine production. Explore our recombinant proteins, which include many key cytokines in the host cell response to SARS-CoV-2.

We offer many antibodies to detect important mediators involved in anti-viral pathways, including Toll-like receptors, STATs, NF-κB, and interferon regulatory factors. Our anti-viral pathway reagents have been validated in applications like western blotting, flow cytometry, functional assays, ChIP, and microscopy.

Our comprehensive flow cytometry portfolio will help characterize any cell type, including those relevant to study anti-viral and SARS-CoV-2 immune responses. For those looking to detect various classes of human immunoglobulins, we also offer a selection of anti-human secondary reagents, which could be used to detect virus specific antibodies.

Biomarker Discovery and Monitoring

Biomarker Discovery and Monitoring

Deciphering the existence of yet undiscovered biomarkers can open the door to effective therapies and treatments. We have designed potent solutions in the research field to quickly identify novel biomarkers and immune pathways. Explore cell states and decipher genetic versus protein dynamics with our oligo-conjugates, TotalSeq™ antibodies. We also offer LEGENDScreen™ kits useful for screening hundreds of markers on cells via flow cytometry. These unique tools provide unprecedented cell characterization for biomarker discovery, leading to potential therapeutic treatment development.

TotalSeq™ Reagents for Proteogenomics can be used to characterize single cells in a high throughput manner. These antibody-oligo conjugates contain unique nucleotide barcodes that integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, enabling you to simultaneously analyze protein and RNA expression on a single cell level. TotalSeq™ is available as individual or pre-titrated, lyophilized antibody cocktails, or hashtags for multiplexing samples. Specifically, they can be used to enable:

  • Multiomic analysis (Protein + RNA) of immune cells and lung alveolar lavage in COVID-19 patients (TotalSeq™-A or B in combination with 10x Genomics Single Cell Expression Solution (3’ assay)).
  • TCR/BCR repertoire profiling in COVID-19 patients for immunotherapy and vaccine development (TotalSeq™-C with 10x Genomics Immune Profiling Solution (5’ assay)).

LEGENDScreen™ kits offer a rapid screening method for cellular samples. Kits include several 96-well plates with each well containing a different lyophilized PE-conjugated antibody useful for staining cells. Our human kit contains antibodies for 361 cell surface markers and 10 isotype controls). Our mouse kit contains 255 antibodies for cell surface markers and 11 isotype controls.
