The solution is used to gate out all dead cells.

Experimental Design

Application:	Flow Cytometry
Cells used:	Whole blood in EDTA
Brief Protocol:	The whole blood is lysed,and washed. Then 1ul of PI is added to the washed cells and read on the calibur. All the cells that stain for PI are considered dead and gated out. Only live cells are then taken into consideration.
Results Summary:	Works well for purpose of differentiating between live and dead population.
