Western blot of purified anti-SLC6A1 antibody (clone A18095C). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 20 µg of human brain lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of mouse brain lysate; Lane 4: 20 µg of rat brain lysate. The blot was incubated with 2 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

SLC6A1 is the gene that encodes GABA transporter 1 (GAT1) and functions as the major presynaptic protein in neurons involved in the removal of excessive GABA from the synaptic cleft and the extrasynaptic space. Diseases associated with GAT1 include neurodevelopmental disorders such as schizophrenia and seizure.
