Description

Butyrophilin 3A1 (BTN3A1), also known as CD277, is a 56 kD type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein. It belongs to the butyrophilin (BT)/B7 family and is expressed in various immune cells including T cells, B cells, Nk cells, monocytes, dendritic cells, endothelial cells, and some tumor cells. It plays a role in T-cell activation and in the adaptive immune response, and regulates the proliferation of activated T-cells and the release of cytokines and IFNƳ by activated T-cells.
