CSPG4, best known as neuron-glial antigen 2 (NG2), is a chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan that is frequently used as a marker for oligodendrocyte progenitor cells. NG2 plays an important role in cell proliferation and migration. It also stabilizes cell-substratum interactions during early events in melanoma cell invasion on the endothelial basement membranes. Missense mutations in NG2 are segregated in familial forms of schizophrenia, implicating its role in neurodevelopmental disorders.Product Details
