Western blot of anti-γ-protocadherin-B2 antibody (clone N148/30) and mouse IgG1 isotype control. Lane 1, 5: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2, 6: 20 µg of human brain membrane lysate; Lane 3, 7: 20 µg of mouse brain membrane lysate; Lane 4, 8: 20 µg of rat brain membrane lysate. The blots were incubated with 10 µg/mL of clone N148/30 or mouse IgG1 overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat# 405301). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Protocadherins are a group of self adhering molecules belonging to the cadherin superfamily of proteins. They are predominantly expressed in neurons in widely diverse array. Unlike cadherin proteins, protocadherins do not bind to intracellular catenin molecules.
