IHC staining of purified anti-Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAG) antibody (clone A10F1) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human Hepatitis B infected liver tissue. The tissue was incubated with 2 µg/mL of the primary antibody for 60 minutes at room temperature. BioLegend´s Ultra-Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929901) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective.

Description

Hepatitis B is a liver infection caused by the Hepatitis B virus (HBV). Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) contains the large (L), middle (M), and small (S) surface proteins of HBV. HBsAg can be detected at high levels in serum during acute or chronic HBV infection. The body normally produces antibodies to HBsAg as part of the normal immune response to infection. HBsAg is the antigen used to make the HBV vaccine and is also a diagnostic marker.
