IHC staining of anti-BG-5 antibody (clone T174) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human antrum tissue. The tissue was incubated with a 1:40 dilution of the primary antibody for 20 minutes at room temperature. BioLegend's Ultra-Streptavidin (USA) HRP Detection Kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929901) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective.

Description

BG-5, also known as blood group Lewis A, is found in gastrointestinal tumors, colorectal tumors, and pancreatic cancer. It is expressed in colonic epithelial cells. Blood group related antigens include A, B, H, Lewis A, Lewis B, Lewis X, Lewis Y, and precursor type 1 chain group of antigens. These are a group of mucin-type carbohydrate determinants found on erythrocytes, a subset of epithelial cells, and in secretions.

Formulation
Phosphate-buffered solution with BSA + 0.09% NaN3.

The antibody was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation.

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded immunohistochemical staining.  For immunohistochemistry, a dilution of 1:40 is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
