Western blot of purified anti-SNAT1 antibody (clone N104/37). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 40 µg of human brain lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of mouse brain lysate. The blot was incubated with 10 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

SNAT1, also called sodium-coupled neutral amino acid transporter 1, plays an essential role in glutamine uptake and neurotransmitter recycling. SNAT1 has been shown to mediate the co-transport of glutamine and sodium ions in a pH-sensitive manner, and contributes to the replenishment of neurotransmitters glutamate and GABA.
