Promyelocytic leukaemia zinc finger protein (PLZF) is a transcription factor that belongs to the POK (POZ and Krüppel) family of transcriptional repressors. It is involved in cell cycle control, and plays an essential role in limb development, differentiation of myeloid cells, and spermatogenesis. In certain acute myeloid leukemias, PLZF exists as a translocation product with Retinoic Acid Receptor-α (PLZF-RARα) that has a dominant negative effect on hematopoietic differentiation and is capable of activating Wnt signaling by upregulating the γ-catenin promoter. PLZF can also repress transcription of TP53 and also destabilizes p53 protein through enhanced ubiquitination.Product Details
