Western blot of purified anti-HSPB1 antibody (clone BL28555). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 20 µg of human brain lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of mouse brain lysate; Lane 4: 20 µg of rat brain lysate; Lane 5: 20 µg of HeLa cell lysate; Lane 6: 20 µg of SH-SY5Y cell lysate. The blot was incubated with 0.5 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

HSPB1, also known as HSP27, is a chaperone protein that is ubiquitously expressed in all cell types. It was discovered as a protein that supports cell survival under heat or stress conditions by inhibiting protein aggregation and stabilizing partially denatured proteins. HSPB1 is implicated in tumor cell proliferation as elevated levels of this protein have been observed in tumor cells resistant to therapy. Upregulation of HSPB1relieves the effects of neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, indicating its therapeutic value in these conditions.
