Western blot of purified anti-Galectin-1 antibody (clone A18049E). Lane 1: Molecular weight marker; Lane 2: 10 µg of human brain lysate; Lane 3: 10 µg of HeLa cell lysate. The blot was incubated with 2 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with HRP-labeled goat anti-mouse IgG (Cat. No. 405306). Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

Galectin-1 is a secreted carbohydrate-binding protein that interacts with β-galactoside to modulate cell-cell or cell-matrix interactions. Galectin-1 is expressed in all gliomas and its expression level correlates directly with the grade of astrocytic tumor.
