LDL Receptor Related Protein 8 (LRP8), also known as ApoER2, is a receptor for members of low-density lipoproteins. LRP8 interacts with its ligand reelin, and triggers reelin signaling to regulate cellular processes such as neuronal cell migration and long-term potentiation of mature neurons. LRP8 also interacts with and downregulates APP endocytosis. This interactions leads to increased amyloid beta production, demonstrating a major role for LRP8 in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease.Product Details
