N29slash29_Purified_VGlut2_Antibody_092717
Western blot of anti-VGlut2 antibody (clone N29/29), and isotype-matched IgG1 control. Lane 1: 20 µg of human frontal cortex membrane lysate; Lane 2: 20 µg of mouse frontal cortex membrane lysate; Lane 3: 20 µg of rat frontal cortex membrane lysate. Blots were incubated with 5 µg/mL of each primary antibody overnight at 4°C, followed by incubation with horseradish peroxidase labeled goat anti-mouse secondary antibody. Enhanced chemiluminescence was used as the detection system.

Description

Vesicular glutamate transporter (VGlut) 2, also known as solute carrier family 17 member 6 (SLC17A6) and differentiation-associated sodium-dependent inorganic phosphate cotransporter, is expressed specifically in the brain and mediates glutamate transport at presynaptic terminals. VGlut2 is involved in sensory perception including pain and taste.

Recommended Usage

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. For Western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 1.0 - 10 µg per ml. For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, a concentration range of 5.0 - 10 µg/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Application Notes

This antibody is effective in immunoblotting (WB).

*Expected MW: 60 kD
