IHC staining of anti-TrpC5 antibody (clone N67/15) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded rat eye tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Sodium Citrate H.I.E.R. (Cat. No. 928502), the tissue was incubated with 5.0 µg/mL of the primary antibody overnight at 4°C. BioLegend’s Ultra Streptavidin HRP Kit (Multi-Species, DAB, Cat. No. 929501) was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale bar: 50 µm

Description

TrpC5 is a non-voltage dependent calcium-permeable ion channel in the superfamily of transient receptor potential channels. TrpC5 protein is abundant in the nervous and cardiovascular systems and maintains intracellular Ca2+ levels by forming homotetrameric or heterotetrameric channels with TrpC4 and/or TrpC1. Upon receiving physiological and mechanical stimuli, TrpC5 induces Ca2+ influx and cell membrane depolarization.
