IHC staining of purified anti-Estrogen Receptor antibody (clone D75) on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded human breast tumor tissue. Following antigen retrieval using Retrieve-All Antigen Unmasking System 1: Universal, 100X (Cat. No. 927901), the tissue was incubated with a 1:40 dilution of the primary antibody for 60 minutes at room temperature. Following a biotinylated goat anti-rat linking reagent, BioLegend's Ultra-Streptavidin (USA) HRP labeling reagent and DAB was used for detection followed by hematoxylin counterstaining, according to the protocol provided. The image was captured with a 40X objective. Scale bar: 50 µm

Description

Like other steroid hormone receptors, Estrogen Receptors are intracellular proteins. Estrogen Receptors play an important role in regulating mammary gland growth and differentiation. Breast tumors that are ER positive may also show a more favorable response to anti-estrogen therapies.
