Recombinant Human G-CSF
Recombinant Human G-CSF
561701 2 µg ¥25,000

Product Details

Source: E. coli, approximately 18.7 kD
Formulation: Sterile-filtered through a 0.2 micron filter. Lyophilized with no additives.
Preparation: Centrifuge vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in 100 µl sterile water for a concentration of 20 µg/ml and mix well. This solution can be diluted into other aqueous buffers that containing a carrier protein such as 1% BSA or HSA or 10% FBS. Stock solutions should be prepared at no less than 10 µg/mL in sterile buffer with carrier protein. After reconstitution, the cytokine can be stored at -20°C to -70°C for up to 3 months.
Storage & Handling: The lyophilized protein is stable for 12 months from the date of receipt at -20°C or -70°C. Reconstituted G-CSF is stable for at least three months when stored in working aliquots with a carrier protein at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
Application:

ELISA, Bioassay

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this protein is quality control tested by ELISA assay. For use as an ELISA standard, a standard curve comprised of doubling dilutions from 4000 pg/ml to 30 pg/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Notes:

ELISA: This G-CSF protein is useful as a standard for a human G-CSF sandwich ELISA, using unlabelled BVD13-3A5 antibody (catalog #502102) for capture and biotinylated BVD11-37G10 antibody (catalog #506702) for detection.
Ligand Blocking: This G-CSF protein is useful as a ligand-blocking specificity control for immunohistochemical or immunofluorescent staining.
Bioassay: This G-CSF protein is biologically active, and can be used for in vitro assays.

Description:

Granulocyte - colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a potent stimulator of bone marrow cells especially those of neutrophilic granulocyte lineage. In addition, G-CSF can enhance the survival and activate the immunological functions of mature neutrophils. G-CSF is produced primarily by monocytes and macrophages upon activation by endotoxin, TNF-alpha or IFN-gamma. Human G-CSF is an 18.7 kD protein containing 174 amino acids.

Other Names: Granulocyte-Colony Stimulating Factor, CSF-β, Pluripoietin, Granulocytic neutrophil colony stimulating activity (G-CSA), Macrophage-granulocyte inducer-2 (MGI-2)
Structure: Cytokine
Regulation: Upregulated by IL-1, IL-17, TNF-α, IFN-γ, GM-CSF; downregulated by prostaglandin E2
Cellular Sources: Macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, fibroblasts, endothelial cells, bone marrow stromal cells
Cellular Targets: Hematopoietic progenitors of neutrophil/granulocyte lineage, endothelial cells
Receptors: CD114 (G-CSFR)
Bioactivity/Activities: Growth/differentiation/activating factor for neutrophils; proliferation/migration endothelial cells; synergistic with IL-3 growth of hematopoietic progenitors
