Ku80 is an 80 kD nuclear ATP-dependent DNA helicase. Ku80 is involved in dsDNA break repair, VDJ recombination, and chromosome translocation. This protein binds fork-like ends of dsDNA in cell-cycle dependent manner. Ku80 can be modified by phosphorylation and has been shown to interact with Ku70 and DNA-PKcs. The F3 monoclonal antibody recognizes human Ku80 and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining. |
