Clone: Poly6044
Isotype: Rabbit IgG
Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant (partial) , N-terminal
Formulation: This antibody is provided in phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide and 50% glycerol.
Preparation: The antibody was purified by antigen-affinity chromatography.
Storage & Handling: Upon receipt, store frozen at -20° C.
Application: WB
Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. Western blotting, suggested working dilution(s): Use 10 μl per 5 ml antibody dilution buffer for each mini-gel. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Hela cell extract was resolved

Hela cell extract was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with rabbit anti-JAK-1 antibody. Proteins were visualized using a donkey anti-rabbit secondary conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence detection system.

Description: JAK1 (Janus kinase 1) a 130 kD non-receptor protein tyrosine kinase family and a member of the JAK subfamily is a widely expressed, membrane associated kinase involved in signal transduction pathways from interferon α, β, and γ receptors, all class II receptors, cytokine receptors that utilize the common γ chain subunit for signaling, and cytokine receptors that utilize the gp130 subunit for signaling. JAK1 phosphorylates Stat proteins and SHP2. This kinase is constitutively expressed, but expression can be increased with interferon-α and interferon-γ stimulation through transcription. JAK1 activity is increased by cytokine receptor-ligand binding and can be decreased by SOCS proteins, SHP2 protein phosphatase, and PPAR agonists. JAK1 is modified by phosphorylation and has been shown to associate with IFN-α receptor β chain, IFN-γ receptor α chain, IL-10 receptor α chain, IL-2 receptor β chain, and IL-4 receptor α chain. The Poly6044 antibody recognizes the N-terminal region of human JAK1 and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting.
