Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. Western blotting, suggested working dilution(s): Use 10 μl per 5 ml antibody dilution buffer for each mini-gel. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
MOLT4 cell extract was resolved by electrophoresis, transferred to nitrocellulose and probed with rabbit polyclonal anti-GATA3. Proteins were visualized using a donkey anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to HRP and a chemiluminescence system.
Description:
GATA3 is a 45-50 kD transcription factor found in the nucleus of T cells, mast cells, and embryonic brain and kidney that contains a GATA-type zinc finger motif. This transcription factor recognizes and binds the GATA core nucleotide motif (A/T) GATA (A/G) and has been shown to regulate TH1 and TH2 cell differentiation by directly binding to the IL-5 and IL-13 promoters, remodeling chromatin structure to open the IL-4 locus, and repressing IL-12R β-2 chain expression. GATA3 has been shown to be induced by IL-4 through Stat6 and can be upregulated by positive feedback. GATA-3 can be modified by acetylation and has been shown to interact with Smad3. The Poly6071 antibody has been shown to be useful for Western blotting of human GATA3.
Other Names:
Transcription factor GATA-3, Enhancer binding protein Gata3
