Western blot analysis of extracts

Western blot analysis of extracts from Hela cells, using anti-eIF3F, Poly6382.

Description: The eukaryotic translation initiation factor-3 (eIF3) is a 700 kD complex comprised of at least 12 subunits, including eIF3F, which is essential for translation.  eIF3 directly binds to the 40S ribosomal subunit and promotes the formation of the 40S preinitiation complex by promoting the binding of methionyl-tRNA and mRNA. Poly6382 is useful for western blot applications.
Other Names: Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit F, Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit 5, eIF3S5, eIF-3 p47, eIF3-epsilon
Structure: Belongs to peptidase M67 family. Contains 1 MPN (JAB/Move34) domain. Predicted MW is 37.5 kD.
Distribution: Cytoplasm
Function: eIF3F is a subunit of the eIF3 complex.
Interaction: 40S ribosome subunit, eIF3A.
