Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. Western blotting, suggested working dilution(s): Use 10 µl per 5 ml antibody dilution buffer for each mini-gel. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Description:
MARK2 is an 88 kD protein, also known as EMK1 and PAR1. It directs the developmental decision to build columnar versus hepatic epithelial cells by modulating the polarization of epithelial cells. MARK2 signals can guide the asymmetric development of membrane domains in polarized epithelial cells. The Poly6386 antibody is useful for western blotting.
Other Names:
MAP/microtubule affinity-regulating kinase 2, ELKL motif kinase, EMK1, PAR1 homolog
Structure:
MARK2 belongs to the CAMK Ser/Thr kinase family. Contains 1 KA1 domain, 1 protein kinase domain, and 1 UBA domain. MW, 88 kD.
Distribution:
Cell membrane
Function:
Participates in epithelial morphogenesis
Regulation:
Activated by phosphorylation on Thr-208 by STK11, STRAD-alpha pseudo kinase, and CAB39 protein complex.
Interaction:
PRKCζ, YWHAZ
Antigen
