118216 100 µg $275.00
Clone: G8.8
Isotype: Rat IgG2a, κ
Reactivity: Mouse
Immunogen: TE-71 thymic epithelial cell line
Formulation: Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Preparation: The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated with PE/Cy7 under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated PE/Cy7 and unconjugated antibody.
Concentration: 0.2 mg/ml
Storage & Handling: The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4°C and protected from prolonged exposure to light. Do not freeze.
Application:

FC - Quality tested.

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤ 0.25 µg per 106 cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Application
Notes:

Additional reported applications for clone G8.8 (for the relevant formats) include: immunohistochemistry of frozen sections: acetone fixed1, with or without OCT embedding2,4.

TE-71 (mouse thymic epithelial stromal

TE-71 (mouse thymic epithelial stromal cell line) stained with G8.8 PE/Cy7

Description:

EpCAM (CD326) mediates calcium-independent homophilic cell to cell adhesion. It may also function as a growth factor receptor. It is thought to be involved in maintaining cells in position during proliferation. Expression of EpCAM seems to correlate inversely with the level of E-cadherin (CD324). EpCAM is considered important in tumor biology.

Other Names: CD326, EGP40, MIC18, TROP1, KSA
Structure: 40 kd Single-pass type 1 glycoprotein with 293 amino acids, which consists of a 21 aa signal peptide, a 246 aa extracellular domain, a 21 aa transmembrane domain and a 26 aa cytoplasmic domain. The extracellular domain contains two repeats of epiderma
Distribution: Expressed on majority of epithelial cell membranes with the exception of adult squamous cells of the skin and a few specific epithelial cell types.
Function: Mediate calcium-independent homophlic cell-cell adhesion
Ligand Receptor: CD305 (LAIR-1), CD306 (LAIR-2) and Ep-CAM
Interaction: CD326 displays hemophilic binding
