About ELISAs
ELISA (Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is a simple, cost-effect technique performed on serum, plasma, cell supernatant, and other biological fluids to determine the presence of an antigen in a sample.
Sandwich ELISAs utilize multiple-well microtiter plates, coated with capture antibodies, to capture soluble proteins. The bound proteins are then detected with a subsequent detection antibody, which is typically labeled with an enzyme, or biotinylated and then followed with streptavidin-enzyme conjugate. A colorimetric substrate is then added, which results in a color change based on the amount of antigen captured. By using a plate reader and plotting resulting values on a standard curve, precise, quantitative values can be obtained.

BioLegend's LEGEND MAX™ ELISA Kits are fully validated, ready-to-use kits, containing 96-well strip plates pre-coated with capture
antibody.
They are specifically designed for the accurate quantitation of antigen from cell culture supernatant, serum, plasma or other biological fluids.
LEGEND MAX™ Kits provide several benefits over our ELISA MAX™ Sets. LEGEND MAX™ kits are fully validated with biological samples, linearity testing, recovery testing, and intra- and inter-assay reproducibility. Pre-coated plates allow for your experiment to go from start to completion in only four hours. Compare this to closer to twenty hours with standard sets, which require an overnight incubation step. In addition, ready-to-use buffers and pre-coated plates simplify and streamline the ELISA process, making LEGEND MAX™ an excellent choice for fast and reliable results.
