Product Details

Clone: JKFb-2
Isotype: Mouse IgG1, κ
Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant human bFGF
Formulation: Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Preparation: The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography, and conjugated with biotin under optimal conditions. The solution is free of unconjugated biotin.
Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml
Storage & Handling: The antibody solution should be stored undiluted at 4°C. Do not freeze.
Application: ELISA Detection, ELISPOT Detection
Recommended Usage: Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by ELISA assay. For use as an ELISA detection antibody, a concentration range of 1-4 µg/ml is recommended. To obtain a linear standard curve, serial dilutions of human FGF-basic protein ranging from 4000 to 30 pg/ml are recommended for each ELISA plate. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Notes:
ELISA or ELISPOT Detection: The biotinylated JKFb-2 antibody is useful as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA or ELISPOT assay, when used in conjunction with the purified JKFb-1 antibody (Cat. No. 508602/508604) as the capture antibody.

Description: Fibroblast growth factor-basic (FGF-b, FGF-2) is a heparin-binding growth factor which stimulates the proliferation of a wide variety of cells including mesenchymal, neuroectodermal and endothelial cells. FGF-basic also exerts a potent angiogenic activity in vivo. FGF-basic has been isolated from neural, pituitary, adrenal cortex, and placental tissues. The JKFb-2 antibody reacts with human fibroblast growth factor - basic (FGF-basic).
Other Names: Fibroblast Growth Factor-basic, bFGF, FGF-2, Heparin-binding growth factor
Structure: FGF; 17.2 kD (Mammalian)
Regulation: Released after tissue injuries and during inflammatory processes
Cellular Sources: Brain, retina, pituitary, kidney, placenta, testis, corpus luteum, adrenal glands, monocytes, prostate, bone, liver, cartilage, endothelial cells, epithelial cells
Cellular Targets: Fibroblasts, myoblasts, osteoblasts, neuronal cells, endothelial cells, keratinocytes, chondrocytes, astrocytes, oligodendrocytes, smooth muscle
Receptors: FGFR-1 (flg); FGFR-2 (bek, K-sam); FGFR-4 (flg-2); low affinity coreceptor heparin sulfate and heparin sulfate proteoglycans required for full activity
Bioactivity/Activities: Modulator of cell proliferation, motility, differentiation, angiogenesis; affinity for heparin; associated with ECM
