FC - Quality tested

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For immunofluorescent staining, the suggested use of this reagent is 5 µl per million cells or 5 µl per 100 µl of whole blood.  It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Description:

IL-17F is part of the IL-17 cytokine family which consists of at least seven structurally related proteins (IL-17A, B, C, D, E, F, and A/F). IL-17F homodimer adopts a cysteine knot motif formed through the interactions of four cysteines, one of which is responsible for inter-chain bonding. IL-17F is most closely related to IL-17A, sharing 50% amino acid sequence homology. It is expressed by Th17 cells, along with IL-17A homodimer and IL-17A/F heterodimer. IL-17F has been shown to inhibit endothelial cell angiogenesis and induce increased production of IL-2, TGF-β, and MCP-1, playing a critical role in the regulation of inflammatory reactions.

Other Names: Interleukin-17F, IL-17F
Structure: IL-17F is a homodimeric, 34 kD member of the IL-17 family, which includes IL-17(A), B, C, D, E (IL-25).
Distribution: Epithelial ,endothelial cells, keratinocytes, fibroblasts, and granulocytes.
Function: IL-17F can induce target cells to produce proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, IL-6, G-CSF, GM-CSF, and TNF and chemokines including CXCL1/Gro-α, CXCL2/Gro-β, and CXCL8/IL-8 that attract and activate leukocytes, eg, neutrophils. Th17 and other IL-17F-producing cells play protective roles in the clearance of extracellular pathogens, including bacteria and fungi. IL-17F can also play adverse roles in inflammation associated with asthma and autoimmune diseases.
Ligand Receptor: IL-17R cell surface receptor
Interaction: IL-17F forms a heterodimer with IL-17A
